Margie Elizabeth King, age 77, loving wife to William King, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 22, 1940. She was raised by Ollie and Samuel Wilson in LaGrange, Georgia, and was the doting younger sister of Ellen and Herman Wilson. At a New Year’s Eve party in 1960, she met William “Bill” King, the love of her life. Margie and Bill welcomed four children into their fold, Traci, Bill Jr., Tammy and David. Early on, Margie worked outside of the home in retail, but enjoyed being home with her children best. She was a part of the Francis Howell School District food service division, eventually managing the payroll for that department for many years. She spent thousands of hours in dedication and service to churches in Georgia, Colorado, and Missouri helping Bill in his bus ministry; a convenient way for families and children to attend church and learn more about Christ. She was a great lover of cats, flowers, the color purple and shopping! She is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Traci (Don) Hoeting of Warrenton, Virginia, son Bill Jr. (Kim) of Wentzville, Missouri, daughter Tammy (David) Coveney of St. Charles, Missouri, and son David (Amber) of Warner-Robins, Georgia. In addition, she was the proud grandmother, or Nana, to eight grandchildren, Jessica (Kris), Natalie, Kyle (Xanti), Eric, Gavin, John, Delaney and Aiden. She is also survived by her brother Herman Wilson of Griffin, Georgia and Ellen Golden of LaGrange, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for her will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. for family visitation, and 11:00 a.m. for the service at Bible Baptist Church, 11 Lakeview Avenue, St. Charles, Missouri 63301. In lieu of flowers sent to the church address, donations may be made to the Siamese Rescue Center at www.va.siameserescue.org. Margie was a servant to the Lord, and a ray of joy and energy to all who knew her. “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” Proverbs 31:28.
