James Gordon "Buddy Mc" McFarlin 86 of Hickory passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his residence.
Born January 25, 1932 in Muscogee County, GA he was the son of the late Gordon McFarlin and Althea Smith McFarlin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Alton McFarlin and one sister, Frances Lardaro.
"Buddy Mc" was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War and a Member of Oakwood Baptist Church, Taylorsville, NC.
He is survived by his wife Norma T. McFarlin of the home; son Michael Keith McFarlin and wife Cindy of Hickory, daughter Kimberly Lynn Stephens and husband Michael of Epson, NC, son Kevin Wayne McFarlin and wife Lisa of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Baptist Church, Taylorsville, NC with Rev. Jermy Bumgarner and Rev. Earl Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Bass-Smith Granite Funeral Service, Granite Falls, NC.
