Dorothy Mae Lamb, 93, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Barss Residential Care Facility surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 17, 1924 in Flynn Township, Sanilac County, to the late William and Iva Mae Shephard. She married Warren A. Lamb at her parent’s home in Brown City on October 31, 1942. He died April 13, 2013.

Mrs. Lamb was employed with the Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1983. She was a long time member of Griswold Street Baptist Church and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was a Charter Member of the Blue Water Audubon Society and belonged to the Strawberry Lane Extension Club and Twin’s Mother’s Club. Dorothy, along with her husband, enjoyed woodcarving, square dancing, bird watching and bird banding. They also traveled extensively with the NOMADS Travel Club. For many years they enjoyed their winter home in Zephyrhills, Florida. Dorothy loved playing all the old favorites on the organ.

She is survived by six children, Alan (Cathie) Lamb, Neil (Susan) Lamb, Cheryl (Larry) McDaid, Sonia Lasher, Kevin (JoAnn) Lamb and Karen (James) Lamb-Gibson; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Harry) Baldwin; sister-in-law, Olive Shephard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Ronald and Olin Shephard and Mary Ellen Cornell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Paul North, Dorothy’s nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in Lambs Cemetery, Wales Township.
