SOUTH BEND - David Harry Sears, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Center for Hospice of South Bend.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Sears; her husband, Mark Bell-Kosel; three grandchildren, Jackson, Drake, and Adalynne; one son, Mark Sears; two sisters, Eileen Harrington and Carolyn Annalora; and one brother, Raymond Sears. He is also survived by his friend and former wife, Marci Sears.

Preceding him in death was his son, Evan Joseph Sears.

David was born on August 7, 1946 in Corry, Pennsylvania to Walter Sears and Betty Sears (Krone). The family later moved to Newfane, New York where David graduated from high school.

He served in the U.S. Army and performed combat duty in Vietnam. Upon completion of his service, he settled in Texas, later moving to South Bend, Indiana. Most recently, David was a driver in the transportation industry until his retirement in 2016. Earlier occupations included radio general manager and sales trainer.

While a great lover of all sports, David was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and was thrilled when they won the World Series.

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
