Born in East Liverpool, Sept. 11, 1934, he was a son of the late Clarence N. and Lucy Seavers Redmond. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, he worked at the former Crucible Steel Company and then J&L Steel. A member of the Fredericktown Christian Church, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He was a member and past Master of the Negley Masonic Lodge 565 Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley E. Morgan Redmond at home. The couple married Dec. 25, 1952. Two sons survive: James C. Redmond, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Wellsville and Timothy W. Redmond and his wife, Terri, of Lisbon. He also leaves eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Craig Redmond, a great-grandson Killian Redmond and two sisters Connie Muschweck, and Nancy Bennett.
Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor James Equels, Sr. will conduct a funeral service Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
There will be a Masonic service at 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Burial will be at East Carmel Cemetery.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Masonic Lodge in Negley for fellowship.
