Mrs. Irene White Forsyth, age 73 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Tuesday evening, December 30, 2014.
Mrs. Forsyth was born on January 6, 1941 in Haralson County, daughter of the late Martin White and the late Beatrice Gray White. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from the Cartersville Medical Center. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Forsyth of Rockmart to whom she married January 10, 1959; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Ben Wright of Buchanan, Cathy and Jayson Gann of Rainbow City, Alabama and Carol and Chad Thompson of Rockmart; six grandchildren, David Wright, Doug Wright, Daniel Wright, Zach Thompson, Morgan Thompson and Emily Gann; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Forsyth will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Tony Weaver and Rev. Larry Davis officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Mr. Doug Wright. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery of Paulding County.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: David Wright, Doug Wright, Daniel Wright, Zach Thompson, Joe Camp and Mark Shedd. Honorary pallbearer will be Ralph Meek.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 1, 2015 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Forsyth to the Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 442, Rockmart, GA 30153.
