MATTHEW FRANKLIN, 32 of Manvel, an Alvin native, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 31, 2018. He was brought into this world on April 7, 1986 in Webster, Texas to loving parents, Wesley and Debra Franklin. He met his wife, Jessica, in 2005, and they were later married on June 10, 2011.

A one-of-a-kind personality, he was known for his outrageous adventures, tremendous heart, and never-ending shenanigans. He never met a stranger and often struck up friendships in the oddest of places. A man’s man, his hobbies included customizing his truck, shooting guns, collecting watches, and “wheeling-and-dealing.” He lived every moment of his life at 100 mph and never let anything slow him down. Simply put, he lived a BIG life in every sense of the word.

In his professional life, he was a relentless negotiator and talented businessman. He built a successful career in the automotive repair industry for more than a decade. He blended a strong work ethic with an unhealthy affinity for prank calling his coworkers and employees. He loved his customers and brought wit and humor to every day on the job.

Above all, he dedicated his life to loving his family and serving God. He made an immediate impact on everyone he met, and never missed an opportunity to make someone feel special. He was known for his warm smile, loud laughter, inappropriate jokes, strong hugs and even stronger cologne. His excitement for evangelism and missions was contagious. And, he loved to pray for others and see God at work. His love and kindness will live on in the people he influenced, the love he showed to others, and the wonderful memories he left behind.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wes Franklin, Jr. and Layton Davenport; his uncle, Marty Dentler; and his father-in-law, Jesus Faz, Jr.

Matthew’s memory will be deeply cherished by his loving wife, Jessica Franklin; his parents, Wesley and Debra Franklin; grandfather Bill Burris; sister, Angela Franklin; and brothers, Jeremy Franklin and Marcus Hurst, as well as countless other friends and family members.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at LS Church. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at LS Church with Pastor Bunk Sanders and Pastor Scott Niemeier officiating. Interment will follow in procession to Oak Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the Franklin Family at www.frobergfuneralhomeatoakpark.com.
