Sandra Rowe, age 72 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2018 at her home.

Sandra was born on April 19, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to Richard and Elizabeth (Donathen) Shade. Sandra was a graduate of North Liberty High School class of 1964. Sandra was deeply committed to education. She was an English teacher at Clay High School. Sandra received her BA in English from Ball State University in 1968. She also went on to earn her Master’s Degree from IUSB in 1986. She was a guidance counselor in the Mishawaka School System. She was also a guidance counselor for the Plymouth Community School System for 13 years before her retirement in 2006. Sandra was a member of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed traveling, spoiling her pets and reading, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children; daughter, Jill and Bill Hinderlider of Plymouth; son, Jeff Rowe of Plymouth; Sandra was further blessed with three grandchildren, Sam Rowe, Grace and Lilly Hinderlider; also surviving are Sandra’s sister, Joyce Cripe of Missouri; her brother, Gary and Judi Shade of South Carolina; Sandra is preceded in passing by her parents.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for the Rowe family. A memorial service for Sandra will be held On Sunday, June 10, 2018 in the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street Lakeville, Indiana 46536 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian White officiating. Burial will follow the memorial service.

A time of visiting with the Rowe family will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street Lakeville, Indiana 46536 from 1:00 p.m.to 3:00 p.m.

The Rowe family requests memorial contributions be given to The Marshall County Humane Society, P.O. Box 22 Plymouth, Indiana 46564 or The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S. Center Street Suite C Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
