Mr. Petty was born in Buffalo July 9, 1947 a son of the late Robert and Waunet Smith Petty. He was a veteran of the US Army having served as a medic in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Petty was a graduate of Union High School and Spartanburg Methodist College following Military Service. He was retired from Milliken & Co. as Department Manager. Mr. Petty was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Lowe and husband Eric of Honea Path; a son, Chris Petty of Honea Path; two grandchildren Garrett Lowe and Kara Lowe; a beloved pet cat, Fonzie; an uncle, Glenn Caldwell of Buffalo; and three cousins, Amy Crisp, Tommy Robertson and wife Kathy, and Terry Robertson, all of Buffalo.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Jennifer Trammell.
Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
