Violet L. Slusher, 84, Warren, died Sunday, Feb. 1 at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, where she had been a resident the past eight years.
Born in Jackson Township, Wells County on July 9, 1919 to William and Minnie Berrier Banter, she married Glen L. (Shorty) Slusher on March 24, 1940; he died Sept. 13, 1986.
A homemaker, she lived most of her life on a farm in Jackson Township and also lived in Bluffton for ten years. She attended the one-room Alexander School and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1937. She was a long time member of McNatt United Methodist Church where she was active in the WSCW, WCTU and the Friendship Circle. She was also a volunteer at the Caylor-Nickel Medical Center for several years.
Survivors include a son, Verlis L. Slusher of Montpelier; three daughters, Glennis S. Dick of rural Montpelier, Corliss L. Slusher of Bluffton, and Lennis K. Ternet of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel in Warren, and for one hour prior to the service, which will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McNatt United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Van Haften officiating.
Burial will be at the Asbury Cemetery, Preferred memorials to the churchâ€™s building fund.
