Sandra Lorraine Andrews, 84, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2018. She was born on January 29, 1934 in Jobs, OH to Lester R. and Margaret A. (Matheny) Cook. She was a 1951 graduate of Waite High School. Sandy earned her Masters in social work from the University of Toledo. She worked for the Lucas County Board of Mental Retardation, retiring after 30 years of services, from a bus driver to a supervisor for case management. After retirement she, along with two partners started their own successful business, Triad Residential Solutions, providing services for the disabled. Sandy was a proud and passionate business leader, connecting people with support and help, and giving a voice to those with special needs. She was well respected and knowledgeable within her community. Her advocacy for social justice and equal rights touched many lives. She was a proud member of Maumee Valley Civitans.

Sandy was a talented seamstress and at embroidery, raising four girls with matching dresses, doll clothes and Christmas crafts. She was a wonderful Girl Scout leader all through her daughters' school days. She loved going to musicals and visiting East Harbor Park in Port Clinton, OH. She attended Cedar Creek church South Toledo and enjoyed the community there. Sandy treasured her family and all the gatherings. She will be remembered by her daughters Catherine and Mary Andrews, Helen Shuff and Shavaun Andrew; sons Timothy and Patrick (Glenn) Andrews; grandchildren Tasche Shuff (Scott McDonald), Christin Manuel, Sarah (Drew) Sauber, Lynn (Gary) Phelps, William Shuff lll, Joshua Andrews, Katelyn Shuff; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Her brother Kirk Hughes also survives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather, Afton Hughes, former husband, F. C. Andrews, son Thomas Andrews, and granddaughter Corey Nordenstrom. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Thursday, June 7 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Coyle on Friday, June 8 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
