It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian Walker Thorn announces her passing on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the age of 78 years. Lillian was born on October 1, 1939 in Sylvester, Texas, the daughter of the late Nancy (Hollis) and John Lee. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 25 years, Larry Thorn of Bedford, Texas. She will also be fondly remembered by her children, Phillip Walker of Irving, Cory Walker of Haltom City, Tevi Caver and husband Don, and Mendi Burres and husband Steve, Robert and Catherine Hastings. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Tori Walker, Gauge Walker, Mikayla and Colton Burres, Ryan Caver, and William, James, Robert Louis and Christopher Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bobbie Jay and Cole and four sisters, Mavis Floyd, Shirley Lee Poindexter, Wilna Casper, and Violet Herrington. A Funeral Service in memory of Lillian will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, 1515 South Chestnut, Lufkin, with close friend, Bob Menton officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas. Pallbearers will be Don Caver, Steve Burres, Gauge Walker, Rob Hastings, Roger Floyd and Anthony Floyd.
