Obituary Condolences
Jones, Marguerite Aleria Passed away on January 14, 2017 at the age of 78 from pancreatic cancer. Born in an old farm house in Burnside, MI, she was second of three daughters. Born to Forrest and Jeanne Laidler. She is preceded in death by her parents and both sisters, Linda Laidler and Norma Gallagher and her husband, Robert P. Jones II. She was a graduate of Spring Arbor University. She worked for The MDOC and more recently the Jackson Citizen Patriot. Her children and her family were the center of her world. Growing up, she'd take the kids on Audubon trips and camping. She loved working in the yard and taking yearly trips with a good friend. She sacrificed her life so her children could have a better life and future. She would do anything for anybody. The world is a much better place for having her in it and we are better human beings for having her in our lives. No time would have ever been enough for us. Her love was a bright beacon for us all. She will be forever loved and missed by her loving children, Robert (Brenda) Jones and Melissa Jones; grandchildren, Royetta Jones, Broc Jones, Dakota Huey, Amanda McMann and Patrick (Brittany) McMann, all of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews, including many in Australia. Many thanks to H.F.A. Hospice Home for all they did these past couple weeks. Marguerite especially loved Amy who exhibited love and caring beyond our expectations. Marguerite would smile, gently take her head in her hands and kiss her forehead. Per her request, cremation will take place and there will be no services.

No words can really be said about the loss I am experiencing... Marguerite was a beautiful, a matter-of-fact, poised, witty lady.
She was my sister-in-law; however, she was more like a "Big Sister" to me. Marguerite came into my life when I was a very young girl when I was around the age of 8. Her home was always open to all her sisters and many friends. She was someone who I admired greatly. It was so easy to talk with her about anything and feel safe. I will really miss her in my life. She was a woman who spoke the truth and could always make me believe in myself. I loved her wit and her laughter!! She brought joy into my life and I will cherish her words forever. Not only was she a Sister, she was a wonderful teacher, who exhibited in her life unconditional love in this world. Whoever knew her, will understand how she truly gave from her heart! My heart not only grieves for her loss in my life, but for her family.
My heart goes out to Bob, Brenda, Teri, Melissa, Royetta, Broc, Amanda and Patrick, and all her family.
As my final words to my Sister, I will be there for her family. As she taught me, "Your word is your bond."
I know she has her Angel Wings now. Well done, my beautiful Sister!! We shall meet again.

Aunt Marguerite, my mother's younger sister, was and always will be a shining light of wisdom and inspiration to my siblings and me. We moved to Australia in the early 70's, but our connection to her was strenthened throughout the years through her love and thoughtfulness. She never forgot our birthdays, never wavered in her care for us, and we always had a home in Jackson in the rare times when we could come for a visit. She could be no-nonsense like her mother was (because you had to be that way sometimes, always protective of all of us kids and adults alike, and had a wonderful wit. Her children are like our siblings, and our whole family is all the more special because Aunt Marguerite was one constant you could always count on. She will always be in our hearts, and our hearts grieve for the loss to her children (though birth and marrage) grandchildren, other family and friends alike for whom she meant so much. Rest in peace, you wonderful woman! You have done well.

Sometimes you can't find the words to say about a sudden loss of a dear friend. If it wasn't for Marguerite I might not be here writing these words today. She has been a special friend and a like a sister too. Yes she was a beautiful person and I thought I would share with others a couple photos to remind you of her smile. I remember her last one for me last spring. Love to all of her family. Don McCrum Proverbs 3 5:6
