James "Riley" Waldrop, 68, God's Special Gift, was called home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

He was a resident of Decatur, and formerly of Etowah, and retired from Woods Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Arthur Waldrop.

Survivors include his mother, Jeannette Wilson Waldrop of Decatur; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Calvin Rockholt of Decatur; special nieces and their husbands, Dr. English Rockholt and Dr. Carlos Torres of Chattanooga, and Ashley Rockholt Dennis and Vance Dennis of Savannah; great-nephews, Walker Dennis and William Dennis; great-niece, Gabriella Torres; and a large extended family, cousins, and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, at Jones Chapel Cemetery with Layspeaker Wade Shultz officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
