Jim attended Black Mountain High School and continued his education at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College where he studied computer aided design and AUTOCAD.
He was a native of Buncombe County and a longtime resident of Piedmont, SC, who returned to Black Mountain after his recent retirement. Jim retired as a product engineer from the furniture manufacturing industry, as well as a part time professional musician. He was also a licensed amateur radio operator. He was a United States Army veteran who served as a military policeman during his enlistment.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Pope Price; son, Jimmy; and seven siblings.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Tomberlin of Black Mountain; Tina Davis of Lyman, SC; son, Kenny of Orlando, Fl; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Ronnie and Billy Joe of Black Mountain, NC; and sister Patricia Eaton of Shelby, NC.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Military honors will be rendered prior to interment.
