Margaret Byrd, 75, of Chaplin, died Monday, June 4, 2018, at her residence. She was born May 20, 1943, in Nelson County. She previously worked as a cafeteria worker for the Anderson County School system. She was a member of Bardstown Church of God and served as a bookkeeper for the adult Sunday school class. She loved the Lord and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother with unconditional love for each and every one of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Leverne Case; one sister, Ruby Jean Case; two brothers, Gerden Case and Roger Case; and one granddaughter, Deanna Michelle Riggs.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Byrd of Chaplin; three daughters, Janice Byrd of Lawrenceburg, Karen (Dean) Riggs and Stacy (Danny) Winsor, both of Chaplin; one son, Brad Byrd of Chaplin; one sister, Barbara (Charlie) Chesser of Chaplin; and six grandchildren, Joey, Randy, Chelsie, Shelby, Madi, and Denton.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery. Pastor Bill Adams will officiate with Pastor David Calvert assisting. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
