Anna M. James 90, of New Bloomington, died Tuesday June 5, 2018 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born May 19, 1928 in Marion County to the late Greer and Ruth (Cramer) Gibson. On March 7, 1947 she married the love of her life, Herbert G. James in Greenup, Ky. And they enjoyed 70 years of marriage, until he passed away on April 17, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings: Norma Carpenter, Opal Basel, Art, Dick, Bill, Jack, Gene Lee, Donnie and Emmett Gibson. Her deepest loss, other than her husband, was her two sons: Michael and Herbert and granddaughter, Erin Y. James.

Anna worked at Tecumseh in Marion before retiring from Whirlpool. She enjoyed camping and sitting on her porch watching the hummingbirds at the feeders, but loved when her family came to visit, especially the babies.

Surviving are her children: Thomas (Alice Gibbs) James of Richwood and Dianna (Wayne “Gus”) Smith of New Bloomington, daughters-in-law: Jeannie James of Marion and Beverly James of Richwood
Siblings: Betty Ricker of Lima and Todd (Brenda) Gibson of Richwood
Nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 9, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue, Pastor Mike Raypholtz will officiate, burial will follow in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home in LaRue.

Memorial Gifts may be made to the Marion Community Foundation at 504 State St. Marion, Ohio 43302 for the Erin James Scholarship; checks should be made to the Marion Community Foundation with Erin James in the memo.
