Eugene Edward "Gene" Freeman was born on April 26, 1939 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Columbus & Rachel (McGilbray) Freeman. He passed from this life on April 21, 2007 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 11 months & 26 days.

Gene had grown up in the Coweta community and had lived most of his life in the Tulsa area. He was a retired welder and brick mason as well as a very accomplished artist. Art was always one of the things he loved most as well as music and watching movies. He will be deeply missed and will always be remembered as a very spiritual man.

He is survived by 2 sons; Dan Freeman and fiancé Tammy Lambert, of Oklahoma City & David Freeman and wife Kathy, of Stilwell, 3 sisters; Dorcille Harjo of Glenpool, Anna Mae Bartlow of Tulsa & Elaine Freeman of Florida, 3 brothers; Herman Freeman of Sapulpa, Major Freeman II of Lakeland, Florida & Neal Freeman of Tulsa, 4 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister; Katherine Freeman.

Casket bearers will be Dan Freeman, David Freeman, David Freeman II, Charles Bryant, Michael Evans & Robert Burg.
