Henry Church Bland, second son of Joseph and Elsie Church Bland, was born in Independence township, Iowa, Feb 18, 1855, died at his home in Plano, August 24th, 1926, aged 71 years, 6 months and six days.
He was married to Miss Marie J Shepard, Nov. 18, 1877. They were the parents of ten children, three of them preceded him in death. They were Elsie, Huldah and Ethel.
Those who are left to mourn his departure are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Babbitt of Independence township and Miss Clara Bland of Plano; five sons Clyde of Rockford, Ill, John, Mark, Roy and Verle of Plano, one brother John of California, three sisters, Mrs Sarah Anderson, Mrs Minerva Morlan of Plano, Mrs Ada Larson of Arkansas City, Kan, also thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Concord church Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev L Schaeffer of Walnut City. Burial was at Concord cemetery.
