Doris Burnette Berry, 96, of Rison, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the Cottages of Southern Hills in Rison. She was born May 14, 1924, in Rison to Roscoe and Alice Ward Ratliff. She was the cafeteria manager for Lakeside Elementary prior to her retirement, and was a member of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church. Her family remembers her first-hand memories of WWII and the Great Depression, especially since she had been a “Rosie the Riveter” during that time. It was said that she knew and shared so many stories of those times that she could have easily taught a History class. She was an avid reader, and loved raising Violets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank Berry.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Fitzhugh and Theresa Allred and husband, Roger; a son, Richard Walden; seven grandchildren, Allison and Blake Allred, Melody Caffey, Kimberly King, James Paul Harned, III, and Courtney and Ashley Walden; three great-grandchildren, Chloe and Chris Caffey and Kaylee Ervin.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at https://www.stjude.org/donate/ or to the CARTI Cancer Center Foundation, P.O.
