Johann Ludwig Bramsch(e) was born on April 3, 1811 and baptised on April 6, 1811 in Stirpe, Bohmte, Lower Saxony, Germany. His parents were Franz Heinrich Bramsche and Anna Maria Margaretha Niehaus. Johann married Anna Marie Engle (Eckelmann) Dursthoff on February 24, 1838 in Tharandt, Saxony, Germany. They had six children together named Victor, Natalie (Mrs. Heinrich Leopold von Zschau), Emilie (Mrs. Max Emil Hermann Weisswange), Margarethe, Ludwig, and Franz. Johann was the director of a liquor and dry yeast Company in Dresden-Friedrichstadt, Saxony, Germany (established by Heinrich Wilhelm Dursthoff in 1820). In 1864 Anna died. Johann then married Agnes Negengerd. They had six children. Three of them were born dead. Johann died on July 26, 1877 in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
