Fred B. Osborne, 82, formerly of New Providence, died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Lancaster Regional Medical Center after a two month illness. He had been a resident of Hamilton Arms Center, 336 South West End Ave., Lancaster, for seven years. He was born in Grayson County, Va., and was the son of the late Claue and Ora Belvins Osborne. Osborne had worked at Armstrong World Industries until his retirement in 1985. A veteran of WW II, he served as a rifleman in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in the South Pacific. His wife, Anna Marie McGuire Osborne, died in 1988. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Catherine McGuire Nichols, New Providence; a step daughter, Barbara Stockton, Lancaster, and several cousins.
