E. O. Barton Dead (Pretty Prairie Times)

Last Friday evening, while pitching a game of horseshoes, E. O. Barton, began complaining of failing eye sight. It continued to worry him until finaly he quit and went home.
A little later the doctor was called. and he pronounced it apoplexy. He lived for twenty-four hours and Saturday evening, about 7 o'clock he answered the call sent out for him and he passed away.

Funeral services were held at the U. P. Church, Monday after-noon, and interment made at the Lone Star cemetery.

(Obituary) Enos Ozias Barton was born July 27th, 1856, in Knox County, Illinois, and departed this life April 10th, 1926, aged 69 years, 8 months and 14 days.

He united in marriage to Miss Obedience Goforth near Liberty Center, Iowa, in 1878, and lived in Knox County, Ill., until the year 1888, from which place they removed to Logan County, Kansas, and later located in Reno County. Kansas., near Pretty Prairie in the year 1900, where they resided most of the time since.

He leaves to mourn his demise a wife, seven sons, Joseph B., David A. and Ellis F. of Pretty Prairie; Milton E., Richard Ray and Fred E. of Oil Hill; and Alfred Earl of Garden City. Two daughters, Mrs. Mae Smith of Pretty Prairie, and Della Goforth of Oil Hill; Thirty two grandchildren and three brothers, David C. of Wallace County, Kansas, Almond H. of Pretty Prairie, and Hoarce B. of Ferndale, Washington.
