Obituary for Billy Wayne Roe
RICHLAND HILLS-Billy "Bill" Roe passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, in Keller.
Bill was born October 29, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas, and went to Washington Heights Elementary School. He enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball and football, at North Side High School. After graduation, he went on to Howard Payne University and graduated from the university with a degree in Divinity.
Bill met and married the love of his life, Wanda. They were married 50+ years before mom went home to be with her Lord. She preceded him in death in 2011. They are both reunited together in Heaven with their youngest granddaughter, Jessica.
Bill was retired from the Winn Dixie Food Chain where he was a Warehouse Produce Manager for many years. He worked for Kimballs until it became Buddies and then it became known as Winn Dixie.
Daddy had many hobbies: He loved growing flowers and all kinds of plants. He was a member of the Greater Fort Worth Chrysanthemum Society and won many awards with his chrysanthemums. He also loved to hunt, fish and camp with his family.
One of daddy's favorite verses was Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things that thou knowest not." Daddy always loved to have the little "Special Angels" as he called them over to their yard. Every year he would help my mom get the yard ready for the little ones to have a special day in their BEAUTIFUL Yard where the kids would have a wonderful time playing, singing, and eating. He loved each and everyone of them.
Daddy would also help out with the young people at our church. He would always take his vacation and go with us to Falls Creek Youth Camp every year to help the young people learn and grow in the Lord.
Daddy was a charter member of Glenview Baptist Church. He was one of the first members of the church and a minister of the gospel. He went to the nursing home and held services there every Sunday afternoon. He started going to Mimosa Manor shortly after it opened and then when it became Heritage House of Keller he still ministered there until he could not do it anymore. Daddy then became a resident of Heritage House where he still ministered to people until the horrible Alzheimer's disease took over his mind and body.
The family wishes to convey a special thanks to all of the Staff at Heritage House of Keller for all your love and support these past three years. The last few months have been especially hard.

Daddy you are truly a Great man of God. You showed your family what a godly man looked like. You truly walked the walk and talked the talk. You have left so many friends and family members. You will truly be missed. No one can ever fill your shoes! Daddy I Love YOU, I am Proud of you, and You are Good.
Love and miss you!!! See you soon!!

Survivors: Bill had one daughter, Lesia Ann (Roe) Miller. Her husband, Fredrick Thomas Miller (Tommy) was Bill's son-in-law but my daddy called him his son. They had two daughters (Bill's granddaughters), Elizabeth C. (Miller) Craver of Fort Worth, and Jessica A. Miller (who preceded her Papa Roe in death in 1995). Bill also had two brothers, Bobby Roe of Oklahoma, and Jacky Roe (who preceded him in death), and one sister, Elva Dean of Burleson and her husband, Don Dean (who preceded him in death).
Bill had several nieces and nephews: Stephen Roe of Oklahoma, Byron Roe of Oklahoma, Monette (Roe) Hunter of Oklahoma, Jacky David Roe of Fort Worth, Jay Dean of Fort Worth, and Janice (who preceded him in death), Shelley (Dean) Vanover of Burleson, and Julie Dean of Burleson. Bill also had one precious great-grandson, Chandler D. Craver of Fort Worth.
