She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted companion of thirty years, D.B. Davis; brothers, Roland (Dorothy) Black, Lindsay Black, Eddie (Alice) Black; sisters, Betty (David) Ivey, Georgia (Joe) Kirk, Barbara (Prentiss) Weathersby and Ella Nicks; children, Curtis Lewis, Brenda (Ramon) Johnson, Michael (Helen) Griffith, Johnson Griffith Jr., Melvin (Nancy) Lewis, William (Cathy) Griffith, James (Shandra) Griffith, Darryl (LaDonna-Deceased) Lewis; 23 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitaiton will be held at Smith, Bizzell, Warner Funeral Home, 4209 Grant Street, Gary, IN Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 12 noon until 9 p.m. Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Tarrytown Baptist Church, 601 Ralston Street, Gary, IN. Rev. Willie Joyner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park immediately following the service.
