Funeral Services for Richard Dean Peel, Sr., 87, of Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Brother Lloyd McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Corinth Cemetery, Grand Saline.
He passed away on June 2, 2018 in Tyler.
Richard was born on August 27, 1930 in Grand Saline to the late Leonard Tolley and Ruby Morris Peel. He worked in the insurance business for several years and was a member of the Willowbrook Baptist Church. Richard was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lois Smith Peel; his two daughters Faye DeCanter of Tyler and Debra Fowler of Chapel Hill; his son Rick Peel of Texarkana; his 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son Dennis Peel.
Pallbearers will be Rick Peel, Chuck DeCanter, Rendall Northcutt, Garland Smith, Jr., Taz Harrell and David Fowler.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
