Charles Ernest Waller, 92 of Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, June 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1926 in Pasquotank County to the late Ernest Lorenzo Waller and Annie Louise Jones Waller and was the husband of Edith Carolyn Carter Waller of the residence. He was retired as manager of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant and then worked for ten years for Kenyon Bailey with Gary Cooper. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he had attended for eighty-five years and served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and in other capacities. He was a US Army veteran and served in World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carolyn W. Jennings (Clarence) of Camden, NC; two sisters, Ruby W. Hill of Elizabeth City, NC and Marjorie W. Powell of South Mills, NC; a sister-in-law, Jean Faye Waller of Carrollton, VA; two grandchildren, Barry Clarence Jennings (Heather) of Raleigh, NC and Brent Justin Jennings (Allison) of Princeton, NC; three great grandchildren, Charley Jennings, Zade Jennings, and Carter Jennings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother, George A. Waller; and a grandson, Samuel Charles Jennings.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Davis officiating and military honors rendered by the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post #6060. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
