Jay Jones, 56, of Toledo, OH passed away at Ebeid Hospice on Friday, June 1, 2018. He was born on March 22, 1962 to Jerry and Sherrie (Tafelski) Jones in Toledo.

He spent his youth growing up in Lambertville, MI, graduating from Bedford High School.

He loved anything connected to nature or the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing with his daughters, brother, and Dad. Jay also enjoyed target shooting, hunting, and searching for arrowheads.

He was employed for many years as an interior house painter, most recently with Kennedy Custom Painting. Jay took extreme pride in his workmanship.

Jay cherished his family, especially his grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes.

Surviving Jay are his loving parents; daughters, Jessica Jones and Kenzi (Tyler) George; brother, Thomas (Kathy) Jones; sister, Ann Marie (Donald) Carlson; stepchildren, Austin and Carly Akins; grandchildren, Koleman, Holly, Zoey, Tessa, Cameron, Eden Rose and Billy; and special friends, Debbie Mingione and Lynne Merritt.

Jay was preceded in death by grandparents, George and Alice Jones, Peter and Ruth Tafelski, and nephew Joshua McMullen.

A Memorial picnic will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Windjammer Apartment Community Room, 6535 Dorr St., Toledo, OH 43615.
