Michael was the Facilities Manager at Clipper Magazine for over 10 years, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping, drinking Pepsi, and spending time with family on or along the river. He was always known as everyone's handyman. He will be remembered for his smile and loving blue eyes, his knowledge of all things mechanical and his unconditional love for his family.
Mike is survived by his three children: Ashley Herman, fiancé of Tyler Hanna of Mount Joy; Kevin Herman of Marietta; Brittany Herman of Lancaster, as well as, a grandson Troy Hanna. He will also be dearly missed by his long-time partner Kati Hirst, step-father Don Christ and ex-wife Barb Herman. Also surviving are his five siblings: Vicki (Bob) Carroll and Pam (Scott) Shallenberger both of Wrightsville, Brian (Annette) Herman of Marietta, Mark (Nancy) Herman of Landisville, and Angie (Eric) Lutz of Elizabethtown. He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Lauren Rene Herman.
A Celebration of Mike's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main St., Mount Joy, on Saturday, June 9 at 11:00 am. Mike's family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30-11:00 am. Interment at Maytown Union Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Four Diamonds Fund at FourDiamonds.org.
