Donald L. Rhoads, 80, of Mifflin, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Geisinger- Lewistown Hospital.

Born on April 24, 1938, in Buck Wheat Valley, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Norman and Esther (Weidimoyer) Rhoads.

Surviving are: his companion, Yvonne A. Murphy, with whom he was blessed to share 48 years; three sons, Faron Rhoads, Dale Rhoads and his wife, Carolyn, and Bradley Rhoads and his wife, Joy; two stepdaughters, Karen Gibbons and her husband, Ernest, and Nancy Ianson and her husband, Clay; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother and three sisters preceded him in death making him the last of his generation.

Mr. Rhoads retired from the Labors Local No. 158, Harrisburg and he was a lifetime logger.

With his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed trout fishing, hunting and another favorite past time was his willingness to take a trip to the Hollywood Casino.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will private.

There will be no viewing or visitation.
