Valerie Gail Henry (nee Candler) was born March 7, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Darrell and Marianne Candler. She has two brothers, Greg Candler of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Brad Candler of Fishers, Indiana. She married Todd Henry in 1989 and together they raised two children, Alyssa Lecuru, and Karsten Henry both of Wentzville and St. Charles MO respectively.

Valerie was a homemaker and loved to serve her community and church community. She had a servant’s heart and spent many hours cooking and baking for friends and acquaintances. While part of a church start, she baked fresh sourdough bread and took it to everyone who visited for the first time. She was quick to see a need and do her best to meet it in a very creative and caring way. Her children were a huge priority for her. She homeschooled both children for 1 year and after sending them to a private, Christian school, worked there both in voluntary and paid positions. Many of the friendships she developed from these years have remained strong and meaningful.

Val, for certain, now has a new body and is serving her Lord and those she loved who have gone before. She can speak care and show care again as she did so well during her 59 years on this earth. Describing the fallenness of the human race, someone once said; “We are a long way from Eden”, Val is now dancing inside Eden’s gate.
