Born at Dombey, OK, he farmed and ranched in the Adams, OK area all his life. He was a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church, Tyrone Mason Lodge #367 A.F. & A.M. and Hooker Eastern Star Chapter #248 and the Scottish Rite of Guthrie, OK. He died at the Western Nursing Home in Buffalo, OK and was preceded in death by four brothers, Forrest, Clellie, Leonidus and Orville and sister Matilda.
Survivors include his wife of the home, son Darrell Briles of Polson, MT, daughters Clydena McCollum of Hooker and Bernell Richards of Hardesty; sisters Lucille Potter of Red Oak, IA; Letta Mae Barby and Mildred Barby, both of Knowles,OK.
Funeral services conducted from the Mennonite Brethern Church in Adams with Rev Greg Keith of Union Center United Methodist Church officiating.
