William D. (Bill) Pike, 89, of Emporia, KS passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS on May 30, 2018.

Bill was born August 6, 1929 in Argonia, KS, the son of George Edward and Edith W. (Birkholz) Pike.

Bill once said he would rather trade than eat. He also loved horses, dogs, chickens and cattle. Bill loved to hunt and fish.

Bill owned his own business, The Carpet Shop. He was also a rural mail carrier until his retirement.

Bill served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.

Bill married Christa J. Gossett on July 24, 1951 in Wellington, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: son, William E. Pike (Billie) of Emporia, KS; daughter, Vickie L. Dodson (Steve) of Ponca City, OK; brothers, Robert Pike (Lynn) of Lampe, MO, Carl Pike (Kathy) of Electric City, WA; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lloyd Pike; and an infant sister.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held June 9 at 4:00 pm at the Emporia V.F.W.
