Elsara died of bulbar polio seven weeks after having married to Robert Sayer Miles. They were married June 18, 1944 in Warren County, IL. Elsara was struck with polio on Aug 1, 1944. She was perfectly well when married. Robert was pastor of Ebernzer Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC at the time of her death
