Harvey Nelson Marshall, son of Joseph and Sarah Marshall, was born at Logan, Iowa, December 27, 1876, and passed away at his home in River Sioux, Iowa, September 23, 1958. Death came at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 27 days.
He was united in marriage with Minnie Harrington on February 4, 1900. To this union four children were born. His wife preceded him in death February 2, 1941. One daughter, Mrs. Fern Clark, also preceded him in death on July 28, 1947.
Survivors are his two sons and one daughter, John Marshall of River Sioux, Ruben Marshall of Sioux City, and Bernice Marshall of River Sioux. There are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Lovell of Walnut Shade, Mo., Mrs. Dora Alexander of Modale, and Mrs. Bessie Baxter of Mondamin; along with a number of other relatives and friends.
His entire life was spent in Harrison County. He moved to River Sioux in 1930 and the remaining years were in this town. For the past 21 years he owned and operated a service station in River Sioux.
Funeral services were conducted in the Little Sioux Church of Christ on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Burial was in the Little Sioux Cemetery.
