HEMINGWAY | Mary Ella Rowe Owens, age 62, passed away on Friday February 10, 2006 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs. Owens was born in Hemingway, the youngest daughter of Lucy Cribb Rowe and the late James Edgar Rowe Sr. Mrs. Owens worked as a cosmetologist, a U.S. Postal Service worker and most importantly, a wife and mother. Mrs. Owens was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Her greatest joys in life included spending time with her many friends and serving others.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband, Johnny Truitt Owens; two daughters, Kristi Squires and husband, Marty, of Hemingway, and Tiffani Waldrop and husband, Ben, of Florence; four grandchildren, Kalyn Squires, Darren Squires, and Mary-Caroline Waldrop, and Owen Waldrop; one brother, Jimmy Rowe of Hemingway; three sisters, Joyce Tyler of Charleston, as well as Shelby Douglas and Patsy Williams, both of Hemingway.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. BuriaI, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
