She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Buchanan. She formerly worked at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, TN, and as a waitress at Lakeview & the Old Oak Tree restaurants in Henry County. She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, quilting and sewing. She loved her family and friends.
Ruth was born June 12, 1938, in Union City, TN, to the late William Thomas Ingrum and the late Alice Harriet Hedgepeth Ingrum.
She was married June 23, 1956, to William Calvin “W.C.” Kemp, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Kemp of Nashville, TN, and Barbara (Ian) Butler of Trezevant, TN; one son, Tony Kemp of Springville, TN; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and at least 105 nieces and nephews reaching to the great, great, great, great generation.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters; four brothers; and two great grandchildren, Kimber Morgan and William Eldridge.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 4:00 am to 7:00 pm, and continue Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 3, 2018, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Billy Ingrum and Russell Ragsdale officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Williams, Alan Harris, Jon Flood, Jay Lane, Kendall Maxwell, and John Holden.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Springville, TN.
