"In consequence of the river wearing, I have changed my burying to the hills or beside them on a high bench due north from the 'old place' near half a mile. Three of my children that was buried there I moved to the foot of the hill but the other coffins were so rotten I could not move them and put it off until time after time and so it remains."
Previous genealogy efforts place Peggy's birth location at Kentucky, however, Kentucky did not exist as a State in 1771. Peggy's father, William Robertson, was born at Virginia. William Robertson's father, also a William Robertson, died 17 Oct 1812 at Fort Defiance, Augusta, Virginia. It is likely that William Jr. was also living at Augusta County, Virginia when Peggy was born, and for now, this is where her birth location is projected.
