Carolyn Jensen, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines following a battle with ALS. She was born in Mason City, Iowa on July 11, 1950 the daughter of Lloyd & Verna (Lerwick) Jensen. She graduated from the Clear Lake High School in 1968. Carolyn will be remembered as a caregiver, helping people in the health care field for over 40 years. She always worked hard to become better trained in her profession, over the years she attended NIACC in Mason City, Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo and Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. She worked many years with Mercy Hospital and most recently at the Calvin Community.

A visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm on Wednesday, August 31st with a funeral ceremony beginning at 1 pm, all at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, James Hillson and Gregory Jensen, two brothers, Arnold (Jane) Jensen and Howard (Sharon) Jensen, four grandchildren, Ivy & Payton Hillson and Cora & Sawyer Jensen, two nieces, Lisa Jensen-Galloway & Andrea Jensen and five nephews, Craig, Mark, Curtis, Darren & Matt. She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be greatly missed.
