Collins GA,

Catherine “Cate” Anne Pearson, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall. The native of Illinois moved to Tattnall County in February of 2016 following her husband’s dream to move his family back to the area he was raised in. Cate was a vibrant and loving person who shared her love for life through music. She was a talented singer with the voice of an angel. Her family recalls there were only a few times during the day when she wasn’t singing a favorite hymn or popular song. One of those times during the week, when she wasn’t singing, was while she was listening to her favorite program, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me, on N.P.R. Many times, she would be answering the questions in advance of the contestants on the program. Being informed and connected to the world around her was very important to Cate. She was always connected and in tune to the needs of others as well. One of her last acts on this earth was asking her husband to join her in prayer for an individual whom was struggling with an issue. To say she was a prayer warrior was an understatement. Her selfless acts of kindness were a way of life; right up until her untimely departure from this world. Cate was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her, and she will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Falucskai.

Left to cherish precious memories of Cate are her husband of 18 years, Cecil Pearson, Jr.; 2 sons Ian Pearson of Albany KY and Cecil Pearson III of Collins GA; 4 daughters Gail Pearson of Collins, Taylor Pearson of Evans GA, Aiyana “Ya-Ya” Pearson of Collins, and Mattianne “Mattie” Pearson of Collins; 3 brothers Steve Falucskai of Holiday FL, Joe (Teresa) Falucskai of Campbellsville KY, and Gary Freiwald of South Dakota; 2 grandchildren John and William Pearson; numerous nieces and nephews and a community of friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville.

Memorial Services are scheduled to follow visitation, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with the Rev. John Griffin officiating.

Cate abhorred roses and found them to be one of the vilest flowers under the sun. With that in mind, the family requests donations in Cate’s honor to be forwarded to the funeral home.
