Roger Dean Manning April 27, 1940- May 29, 2018
Roger was the first child born to John Fowles Manning and Martha Irene Nipper in Winnemucca, NV.

He moved to Nampa, ID 1943 and graduated from Nampa HS in 1957
Roger went to the University of Idaho before serving an LDS mission to Germany.
Roger graduated from Brigham Young University with a teaching degree. He met and married Carol E. McDonnel (of Pasadena, CA) in 1966. They moved to Glide, OR for his first teaching job. Roger and Carol’s 4 children were born in Roseburg, OR where they lived until 1987. Roger took a teaching job at Minico HS in Rupert, ID in 1987 until his retirement.

Roger loved to serve. Whether it was in his church callings, playing the piano at care facilities, or in the community it didn’t matter he was there to help.
Roger is survived by his wife Carol, Sisters Sharon Cook and Sandra Bierman, son John Manning (Joanne), Daughter Heidi Murphy (Rich), son Craig Manning (Renee), son Doug Manning (Holly) and 13 grandchildren.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Rupert 7th Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will take place in the Rupert Cemetery, immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
