Jessie Elrod, 93, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away April 18, 2007 at Chanute Health Care Center in Chanute.
She was born in Earlton, Kansas on December 14, 1913, the daughter of Ray and Carrie Umbarger-Briley.
She was united in marriage to Alva Lavell Elrod on December 15, 1935 in Thayer, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gilbert on August 18, 1999.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Elrod of Thayer, KS; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister Dorothy Carter of Thayer, KS.
Burial will be April 21, 2007, at Thayer Cemetery.
