Dorothy Mae Allain was born May 4, 1929 in Flint to the late Frederick and Vina (Prevo) Allain. On December 30, 1950, she married James R. Scott. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1983. Dorothy loved to travel (especially cruises), fishing, camping, bingo, golf, and bowling. She created many beautiful ceramic pieces, winning several awards. Dorothy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Snow Drifters, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, and Cooties. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Her surviving children are, Edward (Julie) Scott, Patsy (Larry) Weise, Leonard (Karen) Scott; daughter-in-law, Beverly Scott; 8 grandchildren, Tina (Ryan) DeLong, Michelle (Toby) Sandbothe, Larry Weise, Tom Weise, Paul (Beth) Weise, Jennifer Scott, James Scott, Thomas Scott; 9 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; 7 siblings, Phyllis Monette, Louis (Toni) Allain, Arnold (Sandy) Mills, Gene (Maruis) Mills, Jane Matthes, Arlyn Mills, A. John (Kathy) Mills; sister-in-law, Claire Allain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her son, James Bob Scott, Jr.; granddaughter, Stephanie Scott; siblings, Cecelia Rouleau, Irving Allain, and Otis Mills.
Visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 6 p.m. and continue Friday at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish from 12 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with Reverend Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.
