Wendy Elaine Collins Bailey, 38, of Senatobia, MS, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto in Southaven, MS. Wendy was born in Memphis, TN on March 18, 1976 to Frank Collins and The Late Judy Mathews Sumner. Wendy worked in banking and was a member of Como Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Millsaps College where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology while fulfilling her membership of the Tri-Delta Sorority. She continued her education by attending graduate school at Union University where she earned her MBA. She was a self-taught artist and loved to read. Wendy loved children and was one of the most outgoing, generous and compassionate people you would ever meet. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunt and in her most recent years, served as the caregiver to her Papaw Horace Mathews.

Wendy is survived by her father and step-mother, Frank and Leslie Collins; her step-father, Mike Sumner; two sisters, Courtney Collins Blair of Como, MS and Danielle Collins of Senatobia, MS; her step-sister, Sassy Dyer of Jackson, TN; her step-brother, Nick Sumner of Nashville, TN; her grandmother, Jerlean Mathews of Como, MS; her aunt, Betty Crisel; her uncle, Eric Mathews; two nephews, Collins Blair and Brantley Tomlin; two step-nephews, Jay Boyd and Faris Sumner and one step-niece, Leyla Sumner. Wendy was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Mathews Sumner and her grandparents, Horace Mathews and Kathleen Robison.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2pm in Como Baptist Church with Dr. Andy Brasher officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Como, MS. Visitation will be held in the church on Friday from 12-2pm. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home - Senatobia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
