William Joseph Hotes, 78, the son of William Otto and Esther (Skofstad) Hotes, was born on September 7, 1935 at the Lott Hospital in Livingston.

He early education was in the Livingston Schools, graduating from Park High School in 1953. he then went to work for the Northern Pacific Railway. In 1955 he joined the Navy and was sent to San Diego for basic training and engineman school, and then to Florida for Submarine school. He served on the USS Sabalo with some time in the South China Sea. Bill was discharged in 1959 and returned to Livingston, resuming his job at the railway.

In 1959 he married Ardi Byrum, and to this union three children were born, Chuck, Shelley and Bonnie.

Bill had many hobbies. Unfortunately, in later years his health declined and he spent several years at the Glendive Veteran's Home, where he died on June 17, 2014.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ardis; three children; four grandchildren and one sister along with her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Otto and Esther (Skofstad) Hotes.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
