He was born on November 17th 1921 in Lyndonville, Vt., he was the son of Harold Perley and Sylvia May (Hovey) Brown Sr.

He moved to Richmond, Vt. in 1927. Scott attended Richmond Schools thru 12th grade.

Scott devoted three years of service to his country and was a member of the Ski Troops with the 10th Mountain Division.

After being stationed at Camp Hale in Colorado, he was shipped to New Caledonia during World War II.

Upon honorable discharge, Scott married Shirley Louise Hazen on June 2nd 1946 and they remained inseparable, sharing over 55 years of marriage until her passing on August 6th 2001.

Scott attended the American Academy of Embalmers in New York City while Shirley worked as an RN at Roosevelt Hospital.

When they returned to Vermont, Scott worked for his father for 4 years at the Brown Funeral Home in Richmond, Vt.

He then decided to become a Pharmacist and attended the Albany College of Pharmacy.

After graduation, Scott worked at Abraham's Pharmacy in Burlington, Vt. for 3 years.

In 1958 Scott and Shirley purchased Kelley Pharmacy at the corner of Church and Bank Streets in Burlington, Vt. They spent the next 29 years working side by side, developing cherished relationships with their employees and customers.

Burlington, Vt. was a wonderful place to work and live; Scott and Shirley raised two children, their daughter and son in South Burlington, Vt. for 10 years, before moving to South Hero, Vt.

In 1972, Scott and Shirley built a home in South Hero, Vt. on Lake Champlain, next to the Hazen family camp. Both their home and camp were favorite gathering spots for friends and family, particularly their children and grandchildren.

Scott was especially proud of his Yorkshire hogs, Black Angus cows and steers along with his Thoroughbred and Morgan horses. His horse, Bear was an excellent driving horse and they went on many adventures together. Scott had fond memories of loading Bear into the horse trailer for trips to Lyndonville to harness up for a drive through Pudding Hill, where he was born.
