Cpl. Wade J. Oglesby, 27, of Grand Junction, Colo.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.; died April 18 in Taji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Also killed was Cpl. Michael M. Rojas. His awards include the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. His mom, Linda, died in September 2003 of heart failure.
