Bruce Alan Pearson, 65, Rockford, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2017, in his home. He was born November 12, 1952, in Wichita Falls, TX, the son of Mel and Anne (Teed) Pearson. Bruce served in the Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot during the Viet Nam war. He married Barbara Therrien Britton in Torrington, Ct. on December 24, 2005. Bruce was a carpenter his entire working life and after his retirement he worked as a groundskeeper at the Blackstone Golf Course in Marengo. He was an avid cook, enjoyed fishing, camping, and was a shotgun enthusiast. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 2087, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aires, 392. Bruce’s love for God was only shadowed by his love for his wife and family.

Survived by his wife, Barbara; his son Dean (Kim) Pearson; his daughters, Dawn (Aaron) Pearson and Megan Barron; his son, David (Joyce) Britton; his grandchildren, Christian, Jonathan, Abigael, Olivia, Cailyn, and Dahlia; his brothers, Craig (Sue) Pearson and Dale (Chrissy) Pearson; his sister, Michelle (Dave) Anes; a host of aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2715 S.Mulford Rd. with Reverend Scott Benolkin officiating.
