Lena J. Lucas, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 in Manning, SC. She was born in Pilot Mountain, NC to the late Ricie Joyce and Alma McDaniel Joyce.

She is predeceased in death by her parents and first husband, Warren Hardin Gordon.

Lena is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Nick Lucas of Manning, SC; daughter, Joy G. Collins and beloved son in law Terry W. Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons Teak Collins (Leigh Ann) and Trent Collins both of Myrtle Beach, SC and stepson Steve Lucas (Tracy) of Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren Caden Collins of Myrtle Beach, Eden Stanley of Conway and Ren and Lauren Lucas of Lexington. She is also survived by her loving sister, Shirley Brinkley (Dan) of Pilot Mountain, NC.

Lena was a graduate of Clemson University and she thrived in business. She moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in the early sixties and founded the Joyland Beauty School. Lena and Nick were longtime business owners of the Myrtle Beach Speedway, 2nd Avenue Pier, and Lighthouse Motel along with many other local businesses. Along with her business affiliations, she and Nick donated the land for The Grand Strand Baptist Church where they were charter members. She and Nick moved to Manning, SC later in life and owned and operated many additional businesses.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 31 at Grand Strand Baptist Church with Dr. Freddie Young officiating. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery.
