Paula Coe, 70, passed away on May 28, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1 at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Rick Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Paula was born in Roby, Texas to Paul and Ruby (Hayes) Burk on July 10, 1947.

She was a 1965 graduate of Stamford High School and a 1968 graduate of Texas Woman’s University.

She married Larry Coe on September 5, 1970 in Stamford, Texas.

She worked as a teacher in the Abilene Independent School District for 25 years at Franklin Jr. High and Taylor Elementary Schools.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother, but truly flourished in the role of “Memie.”

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Donald Burk.

Paula is survived by her husband Larry; her son Brett and wife Julie of Kerrville; daughter Laura Ruybal and husband Chris of Abilene; daughter Melissa Allen and husband Clint of Sweetwater; seven grandchildren, Lisette, Blake, Christyn, Kimy, Christopher, Caden, and Hunter; and three great-grandchildren Melanie, Jasper, and Justice.

Pallbearers will be Mike McAuliffe, Donny Brown, Bobby Black, Don Eiland, Clint Allen, Chris Ruybal, and Blake Coe.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
